GI Associates & Endoscopy Center seeks an experienced Research Assistant to join its growing practice on a full time basis. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working in medical research.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Essential Functions:

Patient Care

Coordinates appointment scheduling for internal and external appointments.

Under direct supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinator, administers informed consent to patient prior to taking history, obtaining vitals, performing EKGs or sending patient for biopsy for any study related procedures.

Under direct supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinator, closely monitors patient's health while on study medication and notes each adverse event.

Under direct supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinator, thoroughly educates patient of purpose of study, duration, and what is expected of patient.

At times, under the direction of the Clinical Research Coordinator, acts as liaison between patient and study physician.

Prepares specimens for shipment and packages lab specimens and other tests required for studies.

Schedules and attend monitors visits.


Research Activities

Under direct supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinator, conducts studies in accordance with FDA & ICH regulations and GCP guidelines.

Attends investigator's meetings and participates in site initiation meetings.

Assists the research coordinator with completion of each study-related task.

Researches the best medium for advertising and answers all incoming calls generated by advertising.

Provides sponsor and SMO (Site Management Organization) with timely, accurate and complete data.

Completes all CRF's and IRB status reports in a timely and accurate manner.

Prepare weekly status reports for sponsor.

Maintains patient files, records and other information in a professional manner.

Participates in professional development activities and attends required meetings.


Special Projects

Performs other related work as required.

Participates in studies, research projects, or company projects as directed.
