ATK is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager for its team in Iuka, MS.
This position will be lead 10 to 20 manufacturing/process engineers and project engineers, and is ultimately responsible for meeting the technical solutions for all responsible areas and programs. The qualified candidate must be able to lead an engineering group to effectively meet plant requirements for safety and quality as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Engineering, ME degree preferred
- 8+ years experience in an Engineering Management role
- 10+ years experience in fabrication, assembly and testing of composite structures
- 3+ yrs experience leading technical/professional resources
- Strong experience recruiting and managing a team of engineers across programs.
- Excellent problem solving skills are a must, and proven leadership of cross functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).
- Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes
- Knowledge of composite terminology, winding, lay-up methods, cure processes, machining methods and precision bonding processes are required.
- Knowledge of configuration management.
Additional requirements:
- Must have good communication and technical presentation skills.
- Detailed understanding of process control through SPC, SQC or other process monitoring techniques.
- Working knowledge of PFMEA and other advanced quality improvement tools
- Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, and mentoring/coaching others in rapid problem solving and improvement.
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Computer skills using MS software.
