We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work / train at our engineering facility in Milwaukee, WI for 12 - 18 months followed by placement at our Horn Lake, MS manufacturing facility.
This position acturing processes and establish the manufacturing methods and layouts of new products.
Responsibilities include:
* While in Milwaukee gain thorough understanding of company products, engineering and manufacturing processes, quality requirements and systems.
* Facilitate knowledge transfer from Milwaukee knowledge base to Horn Lake facility.
* Promote effective communications between two facilities to maximize customer satisfaction.
* Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and documentation.
* Work closely with quality control on new product implementation and resolution of quality problems.
* Determines and sets up manufacturing requirements for new products including building fixtures, creating bill of materials and establishing procedure manuals.
* Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and ergonomic consideration.
* Confers with planning and design staff during product development to ensure efficient production methods are taken into account during the design and development of new products.
* Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications, quality standards and Rite-Hite vendor certification program.
* Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
* Provides leadership in implementing Engineering Change Notices by creating documentation for assembly/test process, tooling, and training changes.
* Leads continuous improvement initiatives through corrective action and process improvement.
* Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
* Position may require moderate travel between engineering facility in Milwaukee, WI, the Horn Lake manufacturing facility as well as vendor locations as required.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Engineering and one to three years related
experience however recent college graduates without experience will be considered. Knowledge of welding, structural weldments, tooling,
fixturing, process flow analysis, cellular manufacturing, quality systems,distorion and operations preferred. Must have working
knowledge of quality systems development and implementation.
